Innovative Moments in Gestalt Grief Therapy: A Case Study

Abstract
|

|
Purpose: The focus of this research is to analyze how innovative moments appear during successful Gestalt Grief Therapy.
Methods: To achieve this ends, one case of a successfully achieved Gestalt Grief Therapy has been used as the subject of analysis. The protocols of a total of 11 sessions has been analyzed through the Innovative Moments Coding System (IMCS).
Results: Five categories of each Innovative Moments namely ‘Reflection IM’ (14.9%), ‘Re-conceptualization IM’ (10.7%), ‘Protest IM’ (7.9%), ‘Performing change IM’ (3.2%), and ‘Action IM’ (0.8%). were identified.
Conclusion: With these results as the basis, the research puts forward a hypothesis concerning the changes of the Gestalt Grief Therapy in accordance with IMCS.
